I always start my year with....

Hey Reader

Happy Veganuary guys! Let’s get this new year start right, shall we?

January being my second favourite month of the year after July where I love taking a back seat, travel around the world & spend some quiet, sunny days with my family while feeling grateful for all the love I feel being close to them away from the worldly noise.

However, January is also unique for some very specific reasons- it being a time for me to closely review my future goals, reflect on all the growth, lessons learnt from last year & sincerely connecting with myself to inculcate few golden nuggets in life so I can be a better version of myself in future.

And I know that you too want to change and evolve. You have dreams too. And you shall know that you deserve them all.

As 2023 begins, you might have laid out a plan for yourself- may be personal or professional. You may even be super enthusiastic & that is wonderful.

But if you are still feeling lost, a failure or not motivated enough, remember this-  “if you don’t design your life, life find its own path to design your life” , I truly believe this.

And chances are you will either feel out of control or overwhelmed by the outcome if that happens. So best is to sit at the driver’s seat.  Enjoy the ride- good or bad, you will always feel in control no matter what.

And if you don’t then the strong currents will chase you out of your dreams & take you in all sorts of unpleasant directions. Let’s not do that this year, okay?

You deserve to have a phenomenal year my friend.

So don’t wait or contemplate- grab your journal. Pen down your thoughts, your goals, your failed attempts. Close your eyes, take a deep breath and let your intuition guide you in the right direction.

Before you jump on a plan, take time out to reflect first on last year.

10 Questions to Reflect On -

  • If someone else were to write a book about my previous year, how would it go?
  • What was particularly positive for me in 2022?
  • What was rather negative for me? What didn’t turn out as expected?
  • What did I struggle with in 2022?
  • Was there a particular "aha moment“ or a "moment of awakening“ for me? How would I describe it?
  • What am I most grateful for in 2022?
  • How did I engage in self-care?
  • What bad habit did I drop?
  • When did you learn from a failure?
  • Who were your major supporters this year?

Love,
Ekta

Seriously Reader, I see this in my coaching all the time. No exception what so EVER! Habits are seductive and saves us a lot of energy and time, so when it comes to changing them, it can seem a little daunting (or a lot daunting) and scary. I was in a coaching session with my client last week. And while talking to him, I asked him on a scale of 1 to 10, how badly do you want to lose those 12 kilos? (he has fatty liver which explains his desperation to get slim). And in all GOOD SPIRIT, he...

Hey Reader, how was your week? For me it started well. But, Thursday my husband & me both went down with flu. I honestly had forgotten what it’s like to feel this sick. And the first thing that comes to mind , when your body feels weak & tired is to order a take away. I know it feels so obvious? Like seriously, it does! And although I know in my bones, the more fresh, clean & home cooked food I will eat, the sooner I will recover. I tried my best to make comforting soups for us all for two...

I don't think I have shared this with you, Reader in this detail. So about 5 years ago, while I was living with my family in Nigeria, on a lush tropical island called Bonny Island, my life took a massive turn. Everything was nice & rosy (from far) or honestly nothing was bad bad. And yet, inside I was feeling like being sucked in negativity. This continued for days, weeks & months. As days passed by, I continued feeling extremely strange. Somethings in me didn't feel right at all. Or at least...
