I am travelling to India this week. What am I snacking on + Bonus Weekly Reads for you!

Hey Reader

Travel is fun, right? Not work related ofc but HOLIDAYS!! :) The amazing people, cultures, and places you get to experience. It's incredible.

Although, I have to admit that the only time I struggle being a Vegan is when I travel. Airports have limited options, & some airlines don’t provide vegan friendly meals(rarely healthy). Mostly they are Vegetarian foods. Yes, one can do a water fast or something but I am not the kind who can when I am on the go ;).

Once I land, I use the Happy Cow site to spot vegan places in the near vicinity. I always end up finding surprisingly nice places. (This summer my whole family enjoyed Vegan food even in the most remote places in the East of France)

When it comes to airports and transits, I carry a few healthy snacks in my purse. They are high-fibre, high-protein snacks. I'm travelling to India and thought to share my travel food with you.

My favorites' are :

  • A water bottle: YES! When I have the urge to eat something. Water is my first choice. Most times on travel, we are dehydrated and not hungry. I usually carry my own bottle instead of buying a plastic disposable bottle. Not good for me, nor for the planet.

  • I also buy small packs of unsalted pistachio as it's my favourite nut. It requires peeling so it takes longer to eat and hence it keeps me from over consumption.

  • I also keep a granola bar (vegan) for when I need something more delectable- I know a brand that is wholesome & comes in multiple flavors. I find them easily in local stores here. It's called the Nakd Bars. (Yeah, I know the name which my kids have a good laugh each time they eat one, hahaha) and they say to me, “ Mumma, isn't this name a bit SUS;).

Anyways, if you don't find clean bars, then make some energy balls in your kitchen with dates and nuts. It's easy peasy.

Once you are armed with a few mixes of sweet & savory snacks, you are good to go. You won’t go hungry. And when lucky you may find a healthy snack or drinks at the airport too. Better still is to be prepared.

Much Love,

Ekta

Seriously Reader, I see this in my coaching all the time. No exception what so EVER! Habits are seductive and saves us a lot of energy and time, so when it comes to changing them, it can seem a little daunting (or a lot daunting) and scary. I was in a coaching session with my client last week. And while talking to him, I asked him on a scale of 1 to 10, how badly do you want to lose those 12 kilos? (he has fatty liver which explains his desperation to get slim). And in all GOOD SPIRIT, he...

Hey Reader, how was your week? For me it started well. But, Thursday my husband & me both went down with flu. I honestly had forgotten what it’s like to feel this sick. And the first thing that comes to mind , when your body feels weak & tired is to order a take away. I know it feels so obvious? Like seriously, it does! And although I know in my bones, the more fresh, clean & home cooked food I will eat, the sooner I will recover. I tried my best to make comforting soups for us all for two...

I don't think I have shared this with you, Reader in this detail. So about 5 years ago, while I was living with my family in Nigeria, on a lush tropical island called Bonny Island, my life took a massive turn. Everything was nice & rosy (from far) or honestly nothing was bad bad. And yet, inside I was feeling like being sucked in negativity. This continued for days, weeks & months. As days passed by, I continued feeling extremely strange. Somethings in me didn't feel right at all. Or at least...
